Many whatsapp numbers are being hacked if two step verification is not activated… The hacker gets access through some other app, seeks money from all contacts and activates “Two step verification” so that the genuine user is not able to login.

So kindly enable “Two step verification” in whatsapp for better security and
also do not install untrusted apps / click untrusted links….
